Stevie Howie is a music recording artist from the United States. The Los Angeles rock singer and songwriter has been releasing music since 2021 with his cover of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Stevie Howie premieres the music video for his June 8, 2022 release, "Crusader".
Crusader is a song made is criticism of the christian religion and the hypocritical people who follow it, much like the crusader who hypocritically went to war for a religion founded on peace and brotherhood. He criticizes the actions of the christian worshippers on how they always judge, preach, and set unattainable expectations. He speaks to how it's a facade and that the religion is made up of people who just lie and play god to fools.
The music video premiered on Jun 17, 2022. It beings with Stevie Howie getting in a car and throughout the first half of the music video he is driving. There is a short break in the music where he seems to get to his destination as he parks on a view and takes a case out of the trunk. Surprisingly the journey isn't over because he continues on foot as the second half of the song continues. When he gets to his actual destination, it is a beautiful view over looking the city. In the case is his guitar and he finishes the song playing for his city.
Quotable Lyrics
You're always preaching that you love to forgive
Right before you tell me you're the judge of my sins
Then you patronize, telling me that I'm saved
All I have to do is see it your way
Want me to swear my loyalty
To a God that lets me burn unless I say I believe
You sit around and take turns trying to bend the Bible
To justify the ignorance of fake disciples
Strike me down, crusader
In the name of God, hate your neighbor
If I don't believe, then I'll be damned
Crusader, take your stand
